Grand Knights

We give thanks to all those who have given so much to ensure the success of this organization, including men who have served as Grand Knights, priests from the greater Joliet area who have served as chaplains, and the men who have served as President of the Joliet Columbian Club (Building Association).

History of Knights of Columbus

Knights of Columbus was founded in 1882 after Father Michael J. McGivney recognized a need for a charitable organization to help sustain families with deceased family members. The organization was built upon the virtues of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism. What started as one council has since grown to 15,342 councils and 1.9 million members on multiple continents.
